Privacy Policy
Last updated May 26, 2026
Plain version: we collect the information we need to fulfill your order and run our business โ nothing more. We don't sell your personal information. Orders are paid in person at pickup, by invoice, or โ when offered โ online by card through Square; card numbers go straight to Square and never touch our servers. We use a few trusted services (an email sender, our payment processor, our hosting providers) and only share what each one needs to do its job.
1. Who we are
Blue J Uniform ("we", "us") operates this website. If you have privacy questions, email us at privacy@bluejuniform.com or write to [MAILING ADDRESS โ owner to fill in].
2. What we collect
- Account information: name, email, password (hashed โ we never see the plain text), and the role you signed up as (shopper or wholesale buyer).
- Order information: your name and contact details, the items in your order, your pickup date and time, your purchase order number (for wholesale), any artwork or files you upload for custom orders, and notes you add at checkout.
- Payment information: when you pay online by card, you enter your card details into Square's secure form; they go directly to Square (our payment processor) and we receive only a confirmation and payment reference โ we never collect or store card numbers. Orders paid in person or by invoice involve no card data on this site at all.
- Technical information: your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit on our site. We use this to keep the site secure and to debug problems.
- Communications: emails you send us and our replies.
3. How we use it
- To process your orders and get them ready for pickup.
- To send you order confirmations, pickup-ready notices, and customer service replies.
- To run wholesale accounts (your curated catalog, your prices, your payment terms).
- To review and produce custom graphics on items you ordered.
- To prevent fraud and abuse (rate-limiting sign-ins, flagging suspicious orders).
- To keep our financial records and meet tax obligations.
We don't use your information for behavioral advertising. We don't sell your information to anyone.
4. Who we share it with
We share only the minimum needed, only with services that help us run the business:
- Email service: name, email, and order details so we can send order confirmations and password resets.
- Hosting and database providers: the technical infrastructure where the site runs. They store our data on their servers but don't access it.
- Law enforcement if we're required by valid legal process, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
- A buyer in a business sale if our business is ever sold or merged. We'd tell you first.
5. Cookies and similar technology
We use a small number of first-party cookies. See our Cookie Notice for the details. Short version: we use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember what's in your cart. We don't use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.
6. How long we keep it
- Account records: while your account is active, and then for up to 2 years after your last activity.
- Order records: at least 7 years to meet tax and accounting requirements.
- Uploaded artwork: while your account is active or while the order is in production, whichever is longer.
- Sign-in attempt logs: a few weeks, for security and rate-limiting.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- See the personal information we have about you.
- Correct it if it's wrong.
- Delete it (with the exception of records we're required to keep for tax / accounting purposes).
- Receive a copy in a portable format.
- Object to certain uses, or withdraw consent where we relied on it.
To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@bluejuniform.com. We'll respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.
8. Security
We use HTTPS for all traffic and hash passwords with bcrypt. We don't process card payments on the site, so we never handle card numbers. No system is perfectly secure โ if we ever discover a breach affecting your information we'll notify you promptly.
9. Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. Parents and guardians can buy uniforms for their children โ we treat the parent as the account holder.
10. International users
Our servers are located in the United States. If you visit us from outside the U.S., your information is transferred to and processed in the U.S. By using the site you consent to that transfer.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the business evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top tells you when. Material changes will be highlighted on the site or emailed to account holders.
12. Contact
Email privacy@bluejuniform.com or write to [MAILING ADDRESS โ owner to fill in].
This Privacy Policy is a starting template tailored to Blue J Uniform's business. Have a lawyer review it (especially if you sell to customers in California, the EU, or the UK โ those jurisdictions have additional requirements).
