Privacy Policy

Last updated May 26, 2026

Plain version: we collect the information we need to fulfill your order and run our business — nothing more. We don't sell your personal information. We use a few trusted services (a payment processor, a shipping carrier, an email sender) and only share what each one needs to do its job.

1. Who we are

Blue J Uniform ("we", "us") operates this website. If you have privacy questions, email us at privacy@bluejuniform.com or write to [MAILING ADDRESS — owner to fill in].

2. What we collect

  • Account information: name, email, password (hashed — we never see the plain text), and the role you signed up as (shopper or wholesale buyer).
  • Order information: billing and shipping address, the items in your order, your purchase order number (for wholesale), any artwork or files you upload for custom orders, and notes you add at checkout.
  • Payment information: when you pay by card, the card details go directly to our payment processor (Square). We receive a confirmation token and the last four digits of the card, but never the full card number or CVV.
  • Technical information: your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit on our site. We use this to keep the site secure and to debug problems.
  • Communications: emails you send us and our replies.

3. How we use it

  • To process and ship your orders.
  • To send you order confirmations, shipping notices, and customer service replies.
  • To run wholesale accounts (your curated catalog, your prices, your payment terms).
  • To review and produce custom graphics on items you ordered.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse (rate-limiting sign-ins, flagging suspicious orders).
  • To keep our financial records and meet tax obligations.

We don't use your information for behavioral advertising. We don't sell your information to anyone.

4. Who we share it with

We share only the minimum needed, only with services that help us run the business:

  • Payment processor (Square): card details and order totals so they can charge your card. Square's privacy practices: squareup.com/legal/privacy.
  • Shipping carriers (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx): name and address so they can deliver your package.
  • Email service: name, email, and order details so we can send order confirmations and password resets.
  • Hosting and database providers: the technical infrastructure where the site runs. They store our data on their servers but don't access it.
  • Law enforcement if we're required by valid legal process, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
  • A buyer in a business sale if our business is ever sold or merged. We'd tell you first.

5. Cookies and similar technology

We use a small number of first-party cookies. See our Cookie Notice for the details. Short version: we use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember what's in your cart. We don't use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.

6. How long we keep it

  • Account records: while your account is active, and then for up to 2 years after your last activity.
  • Order records: at least 7 years to meet tax and accounting requirements.
  • Uploaded artwork: while your account is active or while the order is in production, whichever is longer.
  • Sign-in attempt logs: a few weeks, for security and rate-limiting.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • See the personal information we have about you.
  • Correct it if it's wrong.
  • Delete it (with the exception of records we're required to keep for tax / accounting purposes).
  • Receive a copy in a portable format.
  • Object to certain uses, or withdraw consent where we relied on it.

To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@bluejuniform.com. We'll respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.

8. Security

We use HTTPS for all traffic, hash passwords with bcrypt, and keep payment processing on PCI-compliant third parties. No system is perfectly secure — if we ever discover a breach affecting your information we'll notify you promptly.

9. Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. Parents and guardians can buy uniforms for their children — we treat the parent as the account holder.

10. International users

Our servers are located in the United States. If you visit us from outside the U.S., your information is transferred to and processed in the U.S. By using the site you consent to that transfer.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the business evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top tells you when. Material changes will be highlighted on the site or emailed to account holders.

12. Contact

Email privacy@bluejuniform.com or write to [MAILING ADDRESS — owner to fill in].

This Privacy Policy is a starting template tailored to Blue J Uniform's business. Have a lawyer review it (especially if you sell to customers in California, the EU, or the UK — those jurisdictions have additional requirements).
